Chapter 3: Hardware Setup
CD-ROM Drive
CD-ROM Adapter Board
One side of the CD-ROM
adapter board has a
special connector that
matches the connector on
the slim CD-ROM drive.
Two screw holes are
available for securing the
board to the CD-ROM
drive. DO NOT over-
tigthen the screws to avoid
damaging the board.
CD-ROM Installation
Place the CD-ROM drive
on its bay and slide it
inward for about an inch
(as indicated by the
arrow), making sure that
the drive tray guide tab
locks in place.
Secure the drive to the
chassis with two screws
on the areas indicated by
circles. Connect the IDE
and power cables to the
connectors on the adapter
board.

board, a power connector
and a standard IDE
connector are available.
