XM Status
The XM Status screen displays the status of the XM weather receiver (
Figure 5-66
). The
status includes the XM serial number (eight digit alpha numeric number), Signal Quality,
Status Message, Control State, Time, and descriptive messages. The following tables
provide a description of the different messages that may display for Signal Quality

Signal Quality
Message
Description
Good
The receiver is detecting a normal satellite signal and data is reliable.
Marginal
XM receiver is receiving some signal, but the quality is marginal,
which may prevent some of the data products from being received
and displayed.
No Signal
No satellite signal is being received. This could be a reception
problem, or caused by a broken or missing antenna.
Unknown
No signal information has been received.
Weak
XM receiver is receiving some signal, but the quality is low, which
may prevent the data products from being received and displayed.
