DHCP after Reboot
This is where you can select the mode the ENC 1201 will use after rebooting:
OFF
After rebooting, the ENC 1201 will use a static IP address that you need to enter your-
self (see below).
ON
After rebooting, ENC 1201 will use an IP address assigned via DHCP (which is set auto-
matically).
Note:
• While “DHCP” is set to “ON”, the settings you make for “IP Address”, “Mask”, “Gateway” and
“DNS Server” (see below) will be overwritten by automatically assigned settings when you
save your configuration.
IP Address
This is where you can check and change the ENC 1201’s current IP address setting.
Mask
A netmask is a 32-bit mask used to divide an IP range into subnets and specify the net-
work’s possible number of available hosts. In a netmask, two bits are always automatically
assigned. The first is the assigned network address, and the last is the broadcast address.
Gateway
This is where you can check and modify the standard Gateway setting. A default gateway
in computer networking is the node that is assumed to know how to forward packets to
other networks. Typically, in a TCP/IP network, nodes such as servers, workstations and
network devices each have a defined default route setting (pointing to the default gate-
way). This specifies where to send packets for IP addresses for which they can determine
no specific route.
DNS Server
This is where you can check and modify the DNS server. The Domain Name System (DNS)
allows you to type names into your web browser like “asl-inter.com”, and your computer
to automatically find the IP related to that address on the internet.
DNS Suffix
Displays the DNS suffix (search domain).
MAC Address
Shows the MAC address of the corresponding interface.
DANTE NETWORK SECONDARY
The right column, named “DANTE NETWORK SECONDARY”, is only displayed if “Dante
Redundancy after Reboot” (p. 25) is currently set to “Redundant”.
If the “DANTE NETWORK SECONDARY” column is displayed, you can view and edit the
same parameters as for “DANTE NETWORK PRIMARY”. Changing the settings of “DANTE
NETWORK SECONDARY” can cause errors and should be used with caution.
