4.4  Filling the double jacket

The appliance must be completely disconnected from the mains.
Remove the front panelling. Loosen the clamp at the Y-piece (A) and pull off the hose (C) from the Y-
piece  (A)  (the  connecting  hose  is  not  yet  attached  when  it  is  the  first  filling).  Lead  the  piece  of  hose
remaining on the boiler to the outside of the equipment.

Attention!

When filling the jacket, the pressure may not

exceed 0.5 bar.

Exceeding this pressure causes irreparable damage to
the boiler!
For this reason, attach the filling hose as loosely as
possible to the water tap!

Connect a water hose to the filling tap (B).
Open the filling tap and let the water run in till the water runs
out at the hose (C). Close the filling tap.
Open  the  safety  valve  (D)  by  turning  the  knurled  nut
anticlockwise. The safety valve (D) is open when a clicking
noise is heard during the turning of the nut. This opening of
the  valve  ventilates  and  vents  the  water  bath  and  avoids
overfilling.  When  no  more  water  runs  out  of  the  hose  (C),
close the safety valve (D) by turning the knurled nut in the
opposite direction till it comes to the end stop.
Connect the hose (C) to the Y-piece (A) again.

All panelling and cladding parts must be attached again
once the filling work has been completed!

Draining the double jacket

The jacket only has to be emptied when the boiler is put into
store or for other reasons when a temperature of below 0°C
is to be reckoned with.
For the draining of the jacket, just as for the filling, the filling
tap (B) is opened and the hose (C) pulled off the Y-piece (A).

4.5  Functional test

Fill the pan with the minimum water quantity (approx. 10 litres).

Put the appliance into operation. The green indicator light for operational readiness must light up.

Set the desired temperature. The yellow indicator light for the control must light up.

The  boiling  pan  must  go into the control mode  once  the  set  temperature is  reached;  the  yellow  light

goes out.

5  Proper Usage

5.1  Operational start-up

Remove the protective film before bringing into operation.
Clean the equipment with dilute soap solution.
Check that the lid hinge functions properly before bringing into operation for the first time. Should the lid
no longer remain standing in the uppermost position or not close automatically in the lower position, the
hinge should be adjusted as described in Section 6.1.
