4.8.3. Assignable pedal
The MiniLab pedal input is designed for a switch-type pedal, either latching or momentary,
and can be configured a number of ways using the MCC.
To edit its settings, click on the graphic of the Sustain pedal connector at the top of the Editor
window:
A window containing four pull-down menus and two knobs will appear when the controller
input has been selected. Click on the arrows to open the menus and see the various options
they offer:
•
Mode
Switched Control or MIDI Note
•
Option
Toggle (latching) or Gate (momentary)
•
Channel
1-16 or Keyboard
•
CC Number
Any MIDI CC# between 0-127 may be used.
The Off Value and On Value knobs allow you to set the minimum and maximum range for
the pedal. So if you are using the pedal to transmit a modulation message, for example, you
can have a non-zero value as the Off value and a moderate value for the On value.
You can even use these fields to reverse the operation of the pedal if you like, by entering a
higher value for the Off Value and a lower value for the On Value.
