Arlec Guarantee

Arlec guarantees this product against defects
in materials and/or workmanship, under
normal domestic use and conditions for 24
months from the date of purchase.

Except as otherwise provided for by 
Trade Practices Act and State Consumer
Legislation, this guarantee becomes void if, in
the opinion of Arlec:

The product has been misused, abused

Used in commercial application

Installed incorrectly

Modified or installed by an unauthorised
person

Has been damaged in transit subsequent
to purchase

Connected to electrical supply not
corresponding to the product’s
specification

The product has been used with type of
controller not recommended by Arlec.

If any part of the product proves defective
within the warranty period, such part will be
repaired or replaced free of charge at the
discretion of Arlec.
The purchaser of the fan is to be responsible for:

Travel costs incurred where service is
requested at premises or at such time
outside normal areas or times as defined by
Arlec or their authorised agent.

Transport and insurance costs if product or
parts have to be returned for repair or
replacement to Arlec or their authorised
agent.

Repair of defect not covered by this
warranty

To claim under this guarantee, the purchaser
must produce proof of purchase, plus proof of
installation (contractor invoice and contractor
licence number) and 

Installation record form

must be completed.

Guarantee does not include installation, minor running noise,

loosening of components assembled by installer, bulbs and glass

used in light fittings, minor wobble of fan.

TROUBLE SHOOTING CHECKLIST

TROUBLE

Fan will not start

Fan wobbles

Fan sounds noisy

Mechanical Noise

PROBLEM CAUSE

a. Fuse or circuit breaker blown
b. Loose power line connections to the fan.
c. Reversing switch (where applicable)

neither up or down.

d. Speed controller not in correct position.

a. Fan blades not horizontal to ceiling
b. Blade screws are loose

a. Light kit glassware loose or rattling
b. Incorrect bulb(s) being used in light kit.
c. Loose fan blade screws
d. Ceiling fan not secured against ceiling
e. Incorrect speed controller

SUGGESTED REMEDY

a. Check main and branch circuit fuses or circuit

breakers.

b. Check line wire connections to fan.
c. Push switch either fully up or down.
d. Check speed controller’s position.

a. Measure from ceiling to tip of blades, then rotate

fan so all 4 blades are checked for equal height
from ceiling. (Note: adjustments may be made by
slight pressure up or down on blade holders).
Make sure all screws are securely fastened.

a. Brass knob securing glass should be finger tight.
b. Check suggested bulb(s) in light kit
c. Re-tighten all screws on fan blades but never

over-tighten

d. Re-tighten all screws in the hanging bracket 

or plate.

e. Change the controller to the one supplied.

Re-tighten the screws in the upper side of the fan
motor body.

a.  Allow for at least 8 hours settling-in period.
