Description
This document includes installation information for the
Carrier Fire & Security LON2000 network interface module, a
LON700 driver that enables FP1200-2000 control panels to
connect to LON700 devices.
Installation
WARNING:
Disconnect the control panel from mains power
and batteries before installation. All site data will be erased
during installation of this product. Be sure to back up site data
before installation.
Figure 1 shows connection details for the LON2000. Figure 2
shows LON2000 installation location on the host CPU module.

Push the LON2000 network interface module onto the host
CPU module making sure that the 20-pin connector points
make contact.
Connect the data cable and secure the LON2000 to the host
CPU module.
If the module is installed in the first or last control panel of a
LON network, the termination jumper should be set to T
(terminated). The default setting is D (not terminated).
The panel will automatically recognize the LON2000. Follow
the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
For FP1200-2000 panels the LON network is limited to 32
nodes.
Cabling requirements
Caution:
To ensure correct operation of your system, you
must follow the recommended cabling practices described
below.
CAT5 FTP cable is recommended, but any cable used must be
shielded twisted-pair and have a characteristic impedance of
100 to 120
Ω.
Maintenance
Basic maintenance is reduced to a yearly inspection. Do not
modify internal wiring or circuitry.
