It is strictly forbidden to use the piping from the plumbing, heating and gas systems for the appliance
earthing connection. If the appliance is supplied with a power supply cable, should the latter need re-
placing, use a cable featuring the same characteristics (type H05VV-F 3x1,5 mm
2
, 8,5 mm in diameter).
The power cable (H05VV-F 3x1.5 mm
2
dia. 8.5 mm) must be routed in the recess at the back of the ap-
pliance to the terminal block (
Fig. 7, Ref. M
). Tighten down the terminal screws to connect the individual
wires securely. Secure the power supply cable in place using the special cable clamps provided with the
appliance. Use a two-pole switch conforming with national laws in force (contact gap of at least 3 mm,
preferably equipped with fuses) to disconnect the appliance’s power supply.
The appliance must be grounded with a cable yellow/green and longer than the phase cable) connected
to the terminals marked

Fig.7, Rif. G
).
Before starting up the appliance, check that the power rating matches that given on the nameplate.
If the appliance is not supplied with a power supply cable, choose one of the following installation
modes:
- Connection to mains with a rigid pipe (if the appliance has no cable clamp); use a cable with a minimum
3x1,5 mm

section;
- With a flexible cable (type H05VV-F 3x1,5 mm
2
, 8,5 mm in diameter), if the appliance is supplied with a
cable clamp.
STARTUP AND COMMISSIONING
Before powering up the appliance, fill the heater with mains water.
To do so, open the mains cock and the hot water tap until all the air has been vented from the boiler.
Check for water leaks from the flanges, from the by-pass pipe, tighten down the bolts not too much, if neces-
sary (
Fig.5, Rif.C
) and/or the rings (
Fig.5, Rif.W
).
Power the appliance by actuating the switch.
MAINTENANCE (FOR QUALIFIED PERSONNEL)
All maintenance operations and service visits should be performed by a competent person (who have the
skills required by the applicable norms in force).
Before calling your Technical Servicing Centre, check that the fault is not due to lack of water or power failure.
WARNING: disconnect the appliance from the mains before conducting any maintenance work.
Emptying the appliance
The appliance must be emptied if it is to be left unused for a long period and/or in premises subject to frost.
To drain the appliance, proceed as follows:
- disconnect the appliance from the electricity mains;
- close the cut-off valve, if installed (
Fig. 2, Ref. D
), or the main household water valve, if not;
- turn on the hot water tap (wash basin or bathtub);
- open the drain valve (
Fig. 2, Ref.B
).
Replacing parts (when necessary)
The electrical parts may be accessed by removing the cover (

).

) by disconnecting the cables (

) and remove
the screws. Intervene on the controlpanel by f irst removing the power board (

The display board is secured to the product with 2 screws (
Fig. 4, Ref. A
). After loosening the screws,
press both the tabs with two fingers (

) and remove the support (

) from its hous-
ing, moving it towards the centre of the product.
After removing the control panel, you can disconnect the connectors of the rod carrying sensors and power
board. Intervene on the rod carrying sensors (

) by disconnecting the wires (

) from the
control panel and remove it from its seat, taking care not to excessively bend them.
During reassembly, make sure that all components are put back in their original positions.
