Activating Networks
Cellular Network for phone calls
Data over the cellular network is turned on by default. This enables Internet connection
beyond voice calls. For example, phone firmware upgrades, accessing data over the internet
on the phone, VoLTE calls.
Connecting other devices to the internet via the Genius X2
An Access Point can be created in Cellular Mode to enable other WiFi devices, such as
Phones, to connect to the internet via the Genius X2’s data network. For example, a laptop or
Wi-Fi tablet connected to the internet via the Genius X2 can send and receive emails, and
surf the internet. This process is called Tethering.
To enable the Wi-Fi Hotspot:

Portable Wi-Fi hotspot – Set
up Wi-Fi hotspot.
Select: Change options such as the network name and password (a default is supplied).
On/Off: Toggle WiFi Hotspot on or off.
When the Access Point is enabled (Tethering Mode), the following icon will be displayed.
Note: When the Wi-Fi Hotspot is turned on, the Wi-Fi connection will be turned off. The phone
cannot be a Wi-Fi Hotspot and join existing Wi-Fi networks at the same time.
