Unit

Run with Clutch Bail engaged a few minutes after each 
use to free unit of any loose or melting snow.

Inspect unit for visible signs of wear, breakage or 
damage. Order any parts required and make 
necessary repairs to avoid delays when beginning use 
again.

Keep all nuts, bolts and screws properly tightened and 
know unit is in safe working condition. Check all 
hardware at regular intervals.

Clean unit thoroughly and lubricate (see 

Maintenance

). 

Paint all scratched surfaces and store in a cool, dry 
protected area.

IMPORTANT: 

NEVER spray unit with water or store 

unit outdoors.

Engine

When storing the unit for extended periods of time, 
remove all fuel from tank and carburetor (run dry). 
Refer to Engine Manual.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM

PROBABLE CAUSE

CORRECTION 

Engine will not 
crank/start.

1. Key Switch not in run position.
2. Electrical connections loose.
3. Fuel tank is empty.
4. Engine ignition problems.

1. Push Key Switch into run position.
2. Check electrical connections.
3. Fill fuel tank.
4. See Engine Manual.

Engine stops.

1. Mechanical jam in blower rake or 

impeller.

2. Faulty spark plug.
3. Polluted fuel supply.
4. Incorrect carburetor adjustment.

1. Turn off engine, remove key, and wait for all 

moving parts to stop. Check for and remove 
obstruction and repair before restart.

2. Replace spark plug.
3. Replace with clean fuel.
4. Readjust carburetor.
