After having finished this proce-
dure, follow the same steps to
burnish the hand brake. Doing so,
stabilizes the material and prolongs
life of brake pads.
!! WARNING !!
Don’t make sudden braking maneu-
vers, unless brake pads aren’t bur-
nished.
After the completion of the break-
in period, the engine oil and oil
filter should be changed. Other
maintenance after break-in should
include checking of all prescribed
adjustments and tightening of all
fasteners. Your ARCTIC CAT ATV
dealer will be pleased to do this
initial service
Air Filter
The air filter (including the foam
element) must be kept clean to
provide good engine power, a low
gas consumption and a long life of
the engine.
If operated in dusty, wet or muddy
conditions, inspect and service the
filter more frequently than under
normal conditions.
!! CAUTION !!
Never use your ATV without air
filter or foam element (danger of
engine damage!).
Air Filter Housing Drain Tube
Periodically (weekly) check the
drain tube for gasoline or oil ac-
cumulation.
!! WARNING !!
If necessary drain the gasoline or
oil into a suitable container.
Shock absorbers
Each shock absorber should be vis-
ibly checked weekly for excessive
fluid leakage, cracks or breaks in
the lower case, or a bent shock rod.
If any one of these conditions is de-
tected, replacement is necessary.

NOTE
When the ATV is operated in ex-
tremely cold weather (-23° C or
colder), a small amount of leakage
may be present. Unless the leak-
age is excessive, replacement is
not necessary.
