RecoveRy pRoceduRe
If for some reason your ARCHOS 9 cannot start Windows® or has
severe problems that you cannot get rid of by normal means, then you
may need to do a complete system recovery. Any data files that were
on the hard drive will be erased, including all files in My Documents.
Included with your ARCHOS 9 PC Tablet is a Windows 7 recovery
DVD.
You will need the following three items to use this recovery DVD.
1)External DVD drive - type USB connectable. A DVD reader/
writer will work as well.
2)Standard USB keyboard
3)USB Hub including at least two port hubs.
For a recovery procedure, connect your ARCHOS 9 to the power
cable.
Procedure (see the diagram below as well)
1. With the ARCHOS 9 off, but connected to the power source, connect
the USB Hub to the USB connector of the ARCHOS.
2. Plug the keyboard and DVD drive into the USB hub.
3. Connect the power to the DVD drive.
4. Turn on the ARCHOS 9 PCTablet.
5. The ARCHOS will start up and ask you to press any key on the
keyboard. Tap on any key. (If you do not tap on a key, it will start as it
normally does within 5 seconds.)

You will be asked if you would like to restore Windows® or exit.
- (1) Press the Enter key on the keyboard to start the recovery process
and then following the on-screen instructions.
The recovery process lasts approximately 1 hour.
If you want to cancel before starting the process, just turn off your
ARCHOS. The device should not be turned off during the recovery proc-
ess, it could damage your device.
