Reformatting on Windows

Windows Users

Use NTFS to format the drive if you will be using the storage device with Windows. The
performance will be enhanced if comparing to FAT32. However, this file system is compatible in
read only with Mac OS 10.3 or above.

Use FAT32 to format the drive if you will be using your storage device with both Windows &
Mac, but maximum single file size is limited to 4GB.
1. Make sure the storage device is well connected to and mounted on your computer.
2. Right click
“My Computer” icon and select the “Manage”.
3. Select
“Disk Management” from the “Computer Management” tool.
4. Right click the drive you wish to format and then select
“Delete Partition”.
5. Once the drive partition has been deleted, right click the drive again and select
“New Partition”.
6. The
“New Partition Wizard” will appear. Select “Primary Partition” and then enter the desired
size of the partition.
7. From the
“File System” menu, select a desired format mode and format.
