2. OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 GENERAL
The AA26G40 is a field generating system consisting of an amplifier and antenna. When the appropriate DC
power and RF signal is applied to the AA26G40, it will produce electric fields of at least 20 V/m for the
AA26G40-20 and 50 V/m for the AA26G40-50. The unit is supplied with an antenna mount that will
interface with a standard ¼”-20 bolt and is capable of manual polarization adjustments.
The AA26G40 will only operate from 26.5 GHz to 40 GHz. Do not use frequencies outside of this range.
2.2 REQUIRED DC POWER
The required DC power for the AA26G40 is +8VDC @ 6 amps max for amplifier power and +24VDC @ 1
amp max for cooling fan power. AR Model AA1000 supplies both of these voltages via a keyed twinax cable
between the AA1000 and AA26G40. As soon as voltage is applied to the AA26G40, the amplifier and fans
will turn on. The AA1000 acts as a switch for applying power.
Refer to drawing 10043537 for the interface diagram of the AA26G40-20 and 10047959 for the interface
diagram of the AA26G40-50.
