ROUTINE CHECKS
Regularly the user should visually check the water filtration
system for leaks. Shut off the water supply and open the
faucet immediately if any leaks are observed.
FILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
The replacement frequency of the filter cartridge
depends on the water quality and water consumption. In
practice, for a typical residential application, the filter
cartridge should be replaced every 6 to 12 months.
When the water flow from the filtered water faucet
noticeably slows down, this may be caused by the filter
cartridge becoming clogged by impurities. Replacement of
the filter cartridge is recommended.
The filter cartridge replacement procedure may be
performed with the filter housing unit installed under the
sink. However it might be more convenient to remove the
tubing from the filter housing unit and to remove the filter
housing unit from underneath the sink.
Remove the plastic protective film from the filter
cartridge before installing it in the water filtration system.
Once the plastic protective film is removed from the
filter cartridge, we recommend to install the filter cartridge
in the water filtration system as soon as possible, to avoid
accidental damage or contamination of the filter cartridge.
Filter cartridges with a central opening at both sides
(Double-Open-End) don’t have a specific top or bottom, so
they can be installed either way. Filter cartridge with only 1
central opening (Single-Open-End), must be installed with
the opening at the top.

1.
Close the water supply to the water filtration system.
2.
Open the filtered water faucet to release the water
pressure. As soon as water stops to flow from the faucet,
close the faucet.
3.
Place a recipient underneath the filter sump, to catch
any spilled water.
4.
Unscrew the filter sump from the filter manifold by
rotating the filter sump to the left.
5.
Inspect the inside of the filter sump; make sure it is clean
and no impurities are present; clean and rinse
thoroughly if necessary.
6.
Insert the filter cartridge in the filter sump; make sure
the supplied gasket(s) are properly installed at the top
(Double-Open-End and Single-Open-End) and bottom
(Double-Open-End).
7.
Verify that the filter sump o-ring is still correctly
positioned in the o-ring groove inside the top of the filter
sump.
8.
With the filter cartridge nicely centered inside the filter
sump, hold the filter sump up to the filter manifold, so
the center hole in the top of the filter cartridge is aligned
with the centering guide on the filter manifold.
9.
Screw the filter sump onto the filter manifold by rotating
the filter sump to the right; tighten it firmly by hand; the
filter sump should tighten up to the filter manifold.
10.
Follow the START-UP procedure as previously described
in these Instructions.
SANITIZING THE WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
Whenever heavily polluted water or water of
microbiologically unknown quality is passed through the
water filtration system, we strongly recommend to
replace the filter cartridge(s), clean the filter sump(s) and
thoroughly rinse the water filtration system.
This water filtration system is manufactured from premium
quality material and assembled in safe conditions to assure it
is clean and sanitary. If installed and serviced correctly, this
water filtration system will not infect or contaminate your
water supply. However, as in any 'device' plumbed-in in your
water distribution system, a proliferation of bacteria is
possible, especially in case of 'stagnant water'.
If the water supply to the water filtration system is
disconnected, or in case of long-term non use of the water
filtration system, we recommend to rinse the water filtration
system before putting it into use:
1.
Open the filtered water faucet and let the water run for
10 minutes to rinse the water filtration system.
2.
Close the faucet.
