6 Maintenance and repair
6.1 Recalibration
In accordance with national legislation on weights and measures, periodic recali-
bration is required for devices in commercial use which are subject to mandatory
verification. The recalibration interval for energy meters is usually 5 years.
All calibration-related functions on the CALEC
®
ST II can be found on the plug-in to-
taliser module. This means that recalibration can be carried out by simply replacing
the totaliser module. The lower section of the housing containing the field wiring
does not have to be removed during calibration. The parameter settings specific to
the device are stored redundantly in the lower section of the housing and are loaded
automatically when a replacement totaliser module is plugged in. Reparametrisation
of the device is not required. When processing the readings, however, remember
to ensure that the readings on the replacement totaliser module are reset to 0.
