6.2 Weekly Maintenance
• Check air hoses and fittings for leaks and make sure connections are tightened.
• Check all bolts, nuts, shafts, retaining clips, retainer rings, set screws and screws, ensure
they are aligned in proper place (grooves), secured, and tightened properly. Pivot

screws should always be checked to ensure that they are tight.

• Lubricate the grease zerks located at either end of the

• Squirt some oil through the bleed hole in the

ylinder to lubricate the

The follow ing repairs should only be performed by a

• Replacement of shafts / axles.
• Replacement of roll bearings.
• Replacement or rebuilding pneumatic/air cylinders.
• Check pneumatic cylinder rods and rod ends (threads) for deformation or damage.

Relocating or changing components may cause problems. Each component in the system must
be compatible; an undersized or restricted line will cause a drop in pressure. All
f

and hose connections should be sealed and/or capped until just before use. Air hoses can
be
used to clean fittings and other components. However, the air supply must be filtered and
dry to
prevent contamination. Most important - cleanliness - contamination is the most frequent
cause of malfunction or failure of pneumatic equipment, so always use an oil/air regulator.
