Operating Instructions
The Universal Toaster has three operational modes:
Bagel, Muffin, and Lunch Modes.
Follow these steps to start the Universal Toaster:
1. Turn the Rocker Switch (power On/Off) to On.
The unit will click three times. This is normal.
2. The unit will start up in Breakfast mode. The
display will read
Muffin Wait
(Figure 3) and will
automatically display the
Muffin Ready
mes-
sage when the unit has reached proper operating
temperature for Breakfast operations (Figure 4).
OPERATION
5. To change from Muffin Mode to Bagel Mode,
use the Muffin/Bagel selector switches. These
switches are located on the back of the unit on
both side housings (Figure 5).
NOTE: If the toasting quality needs to be adjusted,
refer to the section titled “Adjusting Toasting
Quality” in the Operation section of this manual.

Breakfast to Lunch Change-over
Follow these steps to change the Universal Toaster’s
operation from Breakfast mode to Lunch mode:
NOTE: During Lunch operation, it is recommended
that the Compression Control Knobs be set to 4 or
5 though these settings may be adjusted as needed.
1. 15 to 30 minutes before change over time, press
the UT button which is located in the access hole
on the front cover (Figure 6).
