8. Maintenance:
Daily Maintenance
( Essential to the daily operations and life of the welding machine)
Weld in a dry and dust-free environment, Avoid corrosive gas
Keep the controller in a dry and dust-free environment, Avoid corrosive gas
Keep the welding machine clean
Inspect wire connection and system insulation
Avoid excessive shock when moving the welding machine
Turn off the power after finish welding( See POWER LED on AN350 controller)
After a long period of storage or idling( 6 months or up) , Use fine files
and sand paper to remove oxidation and to fix damaged electrodes in order
to obtain satisfactory welding results. Do not set the capacitor voltage
to a high level right away. Start with a capacitor voltage of 30V and
increase by 10V once every minute until 175V. Maintain at 175V for one hour
before regular stud welding is started.
Periodical inspection & maintenance
Check screws and connections, Ensure that the air connections are tight
Check insulation for any damages
Clean the dust build-up on the AN350 controller, thyristers, diodes,
capacitor and resistors to ensure good thermal dissipations, and prolong
the life of the welding machine
Clean the chassis and the welding gun with suitable cleaners.( Note: Alkaline
solution might damage the electric circuit)

Note: 1.The power must be disconnected for inspection and maintenance in
order to prevent accidents!
2.To ensure safety, Use a solid conductor( sectional area >= 4mm
2
)
to short circuit the capacitor releasing stored energy if the
chassis is open.( Use protection gloves to do short-circuiting for
safety)
