Light detector
• The light detector prevents the light from coming on during the daytime.
• The detector’s sensitivity to light is set using the left-hand knob found underneath the light. (Fig. 6)
– Turn the knob clockwise, towards the sun symbol, to make the light less light sensitive. It will
then come on while there is still daylight outside.
– Turn the knob anticlockwise, towards the moon symbol, to make the light more light sensitive.
It will then only come on when it is dark outside.
• By experimenting with this setting it is possible to get the light to come on at the desired light level.
Motion detector
The light has a motion detector with a light detector. The motion detector utilises infrared technology to
detect the heat which a living body emits. The motion detector can surveil a maximum area of 140° at a
distance of 3 metres, and 90° at a distance of 12 metres. (Fig. 7)
• The motion detector is adjusted using the right-hand knob found underneath the light. (Fig. 6)
• There are three settings:
– 10S: The light comes on for approx. 10 seconds after detecting movement.
– 10S flash: On detecting movement, the light flashes, and continues to do so for as long as it
senses motion. Note: It is much more likely that a flashing light will be noticed by, for
example, a neighbour. The light stops flashing about 10 seconds after any movements have
ceased.
– OFF: Turns off the light.
