SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can
result in the risk of electric shock and/or serious personal injury.
• Check the casing for damage before use. Do not use the product
if it is damaged or if the casing is not intact and correctly fitted.
Check that the insulation round the connections is intact.
• Check that the insulation on the test wires is intact.
Check that the test wires have the correct conduction.
• Never apply a higher voltage than the nominal voltage
(specified on product) between the measuring tip and earth.
• Set the mode selector in the required position before
measuring. Do not move the selector during the measuring,
this can damage the product.
• Be very careful with voltages higher than 60 VDC or 30 VDC
rms – risk of electric shock.
• Always set the correct function before measuring and always
use the correct measurement inputs.
• Do not use or store the product at a high temperature or
high humidity, near explosive or flammable materials, or in
a strong magnetic field. Do not expose the product to
moisture, this can damage the product.
• Keep your fingers behind the finger guards when measuring.
• Make the circuit voltage-free and discharge any high tension
capacitors before measuring resistance, conduction, diode
voltage drop or transistor current amplification factor (hFE).
• Change batteries when the battery
indicator is shown.
If the battery is discharged the product can show an incorrect
measurement value, which can result in a risk of electric
shock and/or personal injury.
