Follow the heating guide
below without fail in order
to keep polluting emissions
as low as possible!
OPERATION
OPERATION
When you first use your stove the special enamel
coating is not yet fully hardened. It will only be ful-
ly hardened after heating powerfully (!) several
times. You should not touch the stove surfaces du-
ring heating for this reason. The coating is harm-
less, but you should air the room well after the
first heating.
1. If the stove/chimney is cold, or during low pres-
sure weather conditions burn some paper first.
2. Place about half a kg of softwood chips on some
uncoated paper (not glossy paper) and 1 kg of
firewood (3 small billets/logs) on top and turn
the regulator button at the front fully to the right
in the heating position.
3. Light the paper
4. As soon as the softwood chips are burning well
turn the regulator to the middle position and a
few minutes later turn it to the ideal setting (see
the sketch above).
5. After first lighting the fire (or after each additional
start ) place about 1.6 kg of wood (2 logs) on the fire
and parallel to this set the regulator at the front
to the “heating position” again and leave it until
the wood is burning well! Then continue as above.
The ash is a completely natural product and
an outstandingly good fertiliser for all garden
plants. It should first be stored and “quenched”
with water.
Vorsicht: Ofen nie mit offener Aschenlade befeuern,
da Überheizungsgefahr und Verlust der Garantie
bestehen!
Placing fresh wood on a bed of glowing embers that
has shrunk too small can result in excessive smoke
development. The result: an explosive gas and air
mixture forms. A new heating up process is recom-
mended in this situation for safety reasons.
ASH PAN
The draw-out ash pan should be emptied regularly
to prevent excessive heat stress to the grate. Hea-
ting without using the ash pan results in the risk of
over-heating and the loss of the guarantee. Caution:
The ashes can contain red hot heat nests. For this
reason the ashes should only be emptied into non-
inflammable containers and the ash pan should ne-
ver be put down on inflammable surfaces.
SLIDE DAMPER CONTROL
• Since the performance of your stove is also de-
pendent on the chimney draught, the control
knob on the rear wall must be used for adjus-
ting to this on an individual basis.
• Use the heating position for heating or a couple
of minutes after putting on some fresh wood!
• Use the heat glove provided for operating the
slide damper control.
• Use the vibrating riddle grate with the riddle
hook supplied to shake out the ash from the
firebox into the ash pan.
• The air regulator can be sealed 100 %. Com-
plete closing of the air regulator (zero position
on the slide damper control) during operation
brings the risk of deflagration and is strictly
prohibited.
