— This manual contains important safety and operating
instructions for the converter.
1. CAUTION — To reduce risk of injury, charge only lead acid or sealed gel cell type
rechargeable batteries. Other types of batteries may burst causing personal injury and
damage.
2. Do not expose converter to rain or snow.
3. Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by the converter manufacturer may
result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
4. Do not disassemble converter; take it to a qualified serviceman when service or repair is
required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
5. To reduce risk of electric shock, disconnect converter from batteries or other DC supply
before attempting any maintenance or cleaning. Turning off controls will not reduce this
risk.
Introduction
The BCD90 Series Battery Charger supplies 13.6 or 27.2 Vdc from 24/32, 48 or 72 Vdc power
systems for use in heavy equipment, marine, industrial, or alternative energy environments.
The BCD90-12-5 version is capable of supplying 5 Volts from a 12 VDC battery system.
State of the art Switch-mode design offers high reliability, high efficiency, and minimum size.
The unit has reverse input protection, output current limiting and output overvoltage protection.
