CABLE DIAGNOSTICS TAB
The cable diagnostic feature allows the user to diagnose issues
with the link. Various features within the device are available
when the link is established, which measure the quality of the
link using features such as the mean squared error (MSE) level
and estimated cable length. These measurements are displayed
in the main
Link Properties
tab.
The features in the
Cable Diagnostics
tab, see Figure 27, are
available to run when the link is disabled, such as checking for
short circuits, checking for open circuits, and identifying the
distance to the first fault (see Figure 29). The LINK_EN bit
must be clear to run these checks.
