Deleting manufacturers
You can delete only manufacturer names added to the original database with the
VPXImport program, and are not actively assigned to any VPXpress project files. To
delete a manufacturer’s name:
1.
Click Manufacturers in the Model drop-down menu or to open the
Manufacturers dialog box (Figure 32).
2.
Choose the target manufacturer name you want to delete. Click Delete to open
the VPXImport dialog box shown in Figure 34. Then, click Yes to delete the
manufacturer’s name from the database and return to the Manufacturers
dialog box.
3.
Click Close to return to the main window.
Maintaining the Database
The VPXpress program’s database is the depository of all original and new model
information you add to it using the VPXImport program. As is the case with most
database management systems, it must be cleaned up periodically to ensure it
works correctly.
Compacting the database
You should compact the database periodically to reduce its file size by eliminating
all temporary files. To compact the database:
