Installing Outdoor Antenna

•

Select a proper place to install the outdoor antenna.

Normally the roof of the building is a good choice. As shown from the above graph,
you need test the signals from A to E, and select a place with best signal for
installation.

•

Select direction of outdoor antenna.

The outdoor antenna should point to the tower for better signals.

•

Installation of outdoor antenna.

In most cases, the panel antenna is the best choice. You can also choose wide
band yagi antenna as an option in case the outdoor signals are weaker.

There are 2 types of installation: wall mount or pole mount, wall mounts are
recommended for your convenience.

Installing Wide band yagi antenna and outdoor panel antenna as references:

Step1: Unscrew antenna from L-mounting bracket on antenna base with wrench.

Step2: Mount vertical plate of the L-bracket on the wall with supplied screws.

Step3: Screw antenna back onto horizontal plate.

Notes:

•

Wrap waterproof tape around the connectors between outdoor antenna and

feeder lines to avoid water or other kinds of damage.

Installing Indoor Antenna

According to the requirement of practical application, to choose indoor panel
antenna, omni-directional antenna or whip antenna as server antenna.

Installing indoor panel antenna and whip antenna as references:

Installing the signal booster

Step1: Select an indoor location close to a power outlet on a wall.

Measures
and Quick Flashing Red".

1.Adjust the antennas' directions or locations to lower down input power.

2.Slowly add the attenuation by the knob.

3.Reduce the booster's gain by external attenuator or replace with lower gain
antenna if the above methods don't work.

Target: The work is accomplished until Alarm LED is "Green" or "Slow Flashing
Green".Please note that "Green" LED may lead to lower coverage, which shall be
paid attention to.

After all LEDs work fine, check whether the coverage is good or not. If it is good,
the booster system is completed; and below actions shall be taken if the coverage
is not good.

1. If the signals in most areas have not been improved, please check below again:

•

The weak input signal leads to the low output power. Change the direction of

donor antenna or its installation position or replace donor antenna with higher gain
antenna to increase input signal power level.

•

Check whether it is necessary to add more server antennas since barriers block

the signal penetration, also check whether the repeater's power is enough, please
install more server antennas or replace with a repeater of higher power level.

2. If the signals in small part of the areas have not been improved, please check
below:

•

Check whether the service antenna is installed correctly or not, you may try to

move the antenna location to improve coverage.

•

Check if it is necessary to adjust the direction of the sever antenna.

•

Check whether it is necessary to add one or more antenna to enhance the

coverage of special areas.

Remark:

Reduce the attenuation values*---at the same time must ensure the isolation.

Increase the output power* ---recommended ways: adjust the donor antenna
direction / location, or replace with higher gain antenna to increase input signal
strength.

Manual gain control (MGC)

: Below actions are recommended to eliminate "Quick Flashing Green

 "

1.Power indicator
2.Isolation indicator
3.Alarm indicator
4.Uplink gain control
5.Downlink gain control
6.Indoor antenna port
7.Outdoor antenna port
8.Power connector

Remark: This improvement won't increase the coverage, but is mandatory to avoid

bringing interference to mobile networks according to Telecom regulations.

Remark: Uplink gain must be equal to or better to be 5dB less than downlink gain, it

can't be more in order to avoid interference with mobile network.

Step2: Mount the booster with the screws included as shown in the figure.

Step3: Connect the outdoor antenna cables to booster connector marked
“outdoor”.Tighten the connection with hand or wrench.

Step4: Connect the indoor antenna cables to booster connector marked “indoor”.
Tighten the connection with hand or wrench.

Step5: Connect the AC power cord to the signal booster, and then connect the plug
to the electrical outlet.

Step6: Power on the booster.

Booster's port description

Booster Commissioning

After powering on the booster, it will automatically adjust for best performance
with its integrated intelligent software system. In most cases, no manual operation
(knob Switch) is needed.

After power on the equipment 30 seconds, it will finish automatic adjustment.

Then check firstly Power LED, ISO LED and Alarm LED colors.

•

Power LED indicates if the booster has proper power supply, Power LED shall

remain "Green”

•

ISO LED indicates if the booster has enough isolation between the outdoor and

indoor antennas in order to avoid the loop back or so-called self-oscillation. This is
to ensure the booster has no interference neither to call/data services, nor to

mobile networks. ISO LED shall remain "Green" or "Slow Flashing Green".

Measures: One of below actions are recommended to eliminate ISO problems,
please note that actions are same for “Quick Flashing Green" and "Quick Flashing
Red"

1. Adjust the antennas' directions or locations or enlarge the distance between
them.

2. Add the vertical or horizontal distance between antenna and server antenna.

3. Use the barrier like walls to increase the isolation.

4. Change server antenna(server antenna can be changed to other antenna type
which has better directional antenna pattern, also you can let server antenna and
donor antenna point opposite direction).

5. Reduce the booster's downlink gain by the knob(refer to the panel Fig. 4 and
5).Keep the uplink attenuation value and downlink attenuation value same then
restart the booster.

Target: The work is accomplished until ISO LED is "Green" or "Slow Flashing Green".

•

Alarm LED indicates if the booster has a strong output power level so that the

target area can be fully covered with good signals. Alarm LED shall remain "Green"
or "Slow Flashing Green".

•

0~270 degree of MGC knob means 0~31dB

•

Spin clockwise means that add the attenuation,

spin anticlockwise means that lessen the
attenuation.

Note: In addition to solve the problems of
isolation and alarm, adjust MGC also can help to
balance uplink and downlink to get better
coverage effect according to the practical
application.
