5.3 Cable requirements
Note
To comply with EMC requirements, the thermometer must be used with
screened cable.
The maximum overall cable diameter must not exceed 8mm/0.3in.
For short cable runs, when general interference is unlikely, use standard PVC 2
Core cable (BELDEN 2576 or equivalent).
For longer runs, or when interference is expected, use a screened cable (BELDEN
9302 or equivalent).
For extended high temperature environments, use a TEFLON insulated cable
(BELDEN 83319 or equivalent).
5.4 Screening and earthing details
Note
Screens or earth cores must be earthed at a single point on the indicator
unit.
The recommended implementation for multiple loops from a single isolated power
supply unit is shown schematically in Fig. 5-3.
