A1 About the SDS-E Slag Detection System
The Land
SDS-E
Slag Detection System is designed to withstand the harsh
environments associated with the steel industry, by combining the
FTI SDS-
EA
Thermal Imager with a special purpose, rugged environmental housing.
The thermal images of the steel and slag stream are relayed to a monitoring
PC system through the dedicated Land Image Processing Software;
LIPS
SDS-E
. This software identifies the presence of slag by means of it’s
increased brightness over that of steel at the same temperature and alarming
when the fraction of steel or slag exceeds the pre-determined level.
