EqUIpMENT LIMITATIONS
to avoid physical and equipment damage when using the atn
nVM-14, carefully read and understand the following safety pre-
cautions.
• The equipment requires some night light (moonlight, starlight,
etc.) to operate. the level of performance depends upon the level
of light.
• Night light is reduced by passing cloud cover, while operating
under trees, in building shadows, etc.
• The equipment is less effective viewing into shadows and other
darkened areas.
• The equipment is less effective through rain, fog, sleet, snow or
smoke.
• The equipment will not “see” through dense smoke.
NOTES
• At operating temperatures below -20°C (-4°F), alkaline batteries
are not recommended, as operating life will be severely reduced.
lithium-iron disulfide 1.5V aa batteries or equivalent should be
used below -20°C (-4°F).
• The purpose of the illuminator is to view at close distance up to 3
meters when additional illumination is needed.
