INTRODUCTION AND INSTRUCTIONS
The CAV 12 comes fully assembled. It is speci fi cally designed for dry pick-up of
fi ne dust made from the grindings of wood or gypsum.
Installed are three fi ltering elements (see fi gure 1). The elements include the
Tank Liner (part number 53856A), the Filter Liner (part number 61156112), and
the Primary Filter Element (part number 302000490). Each of these elements
plays a signi
fi cant role in the machines overall performance.
NOTE: When performance has declined noticeably, empty tank and clean the
fi lters accordingly.
The Tank Liner ( fi gure 1, A)
The tank liner fi lters all the larger particles and a proportion of the fi ne. It is
made from synthetic linen that easily releases trapped dust for effortless clean-
ing. After use, but before removing from tank, tap or shake the liner surface to
release the dust.
It is installed over the top rim of the tank. Center the tank liner with respect to
the rim before installing the head.
The Filter Liner ( fi gure 1, B)
The fi lter liner traps the fi ne particles that pass through the tank fi lter. It should
be removed and cleaned weekly under normal use. It is secured over the
primary
fi ltering element with an elastic band. When reinstalling, the elastic band
should pinch upon the base of the primary fi ltering element and not the paper.
The Primary Filtering Element ( fi gure 1, C)
The primary fi ltering element traps the fi ne and ultra fi ne particles that have
escaped the fi lter liner. Clean with a gentle stream of compressed air annually.
Direct the stream onto the inner surfaces of the fi lter. Replace if it has become
damaged, wet, or if performance is not restored after cleaning.
