LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Turn off all electric power to the appliance if service is to be
performed.
2. Gain access to the control compartment by removing surround
assemblies.
3. Locate On/Off gas cock and turn clockwise
to “OFF”.
Do not force.
4. Replace surround assemblies removed in step 2.
TO TURN OFF GAS TO FIREPLACE
GAS COCK
1. STOP! Read the safety information above.
2. Turn OFF electric power to the appliance.
3. Remove front surround assemblies.
4. Turn gas cock counterclockwise
to “ON” position.
5. Wait ten minutes to clear out any gas. Then smell for gas,
including near the floor. If you smell gas, STOP! Follow “B” in
the safety information above. If you do not smell gas, go to
the next step.
6. Tun ON electric power to the appliance.
7. Find pilot. The pilot is behind the burner.
8. Do not try to light the pilot by hand. Turn main flame to ON
using your remote. If the pilot does not light within 60 seconds,
stop and go to step 5.
9. If the burner or pilot does not operate properly after several
tries, turn the gas cock clockwise
to “OFF” and call
your service technician or gas supplier.
10. Replace the front surround assemblies.
11. Operation of the gas valve is controlled by a hand held remote
control. Refer to remote instructions for detailed operation
information.
LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
A. This appliance is equipped with an ignition device which au-
tomatically lights the pilot. Do not try to light the pilot by hand,
use the remote control. Before lighting the pilot, ensure that the
main on/off switch is on. When lighting the pilot, follow these
instructions exactly.
B. Before lighting smell all around the appliance area for gas. Be
sure to smell next to the floor because some gas is heavier
than air and will settle on the floor.
What To Do If You Smell Gas
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electrical switch;
• Do not use any phone in your building.
• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone.
Follow the gas supplier's instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire depart
-
ment.
C. Use only the remote control to operate the gas valve. Never
use tools. If valve does not operate, don’t try to repair it, call
a qualified service technician. Force or attempted repair may
result in a fire or explosion.
D. Do not use this appliance if any part has been under water.
Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the
appliance and to replace any part of the control system and
any gas control which has been under water.
