3. Function
W�en air is blown into t�e mout� or nose of t�e face piece (1), t�e �ead bag (2) fills, displacing t�e
air in t�e skull (3) t�roug� t�e valve (4) w�ic� only opens if t�e �ead is tilted.
T�e ambient air is displaced t�roug� t�e neck tube (5) down into t�e lung bag (6), w�ic� expands
and raises t�e c�est (7).
W�en t�e c�est compression is performed, t�e c�est and t�e spring (8) are squeezed toget�er. T�e
movements during c�est compression are transmitted mec�anically to t�e instrument at t�e waist
(9) w�ic� �as a green indicator for correct compression dept� and a red for incorrect compression
dept�.
