     WARNING

• TURN OFF GAS SUPPLY AT CYLINDER

• EXTINGUISH ALL NAKED FLAMES. 

   DO NOT OPERATE ANY ELECTRICAL 

   APPLIANCES.

• VENTILATE THE AREA

• CHECK FOR LEAKS AS DETAILED 

   IN THIS MANUAL

• IF ODOUR PERSISTS, CONTACT YOUR 

  DEALER OR GAS SUPPLIER IMMEDIATELY .

IF YOU SMELL GAS:

•  LEAK TEST ALL CONNECTIONS AFTER 

    EACH TANK REFILL

•  NEVER CHECK FOR LEAKS WITH A MATCH 

    OR OPEN FLAME

•  DO NOT STORE OR USE GASOLINE, 

    OR OTHER FLAMMABLE VAPOURS 

    AND LIQUIDS IN THE VICINITY OF THIS 

    OR ANY OTHER APPLIANCE

•  ANY LP GAS CYLINDER NOT CONNECTED

    FOR USE MUST NOT BE STORED IN THE 

    VICINITY OF THIS OR ANY OTHER APPLIANCE

The leak test must be carried out in a

1)  With the cylinder connected to the    

     heater and the valve open, press down  

     the heater control knob.

2) Brush all the connections (hose to valve,  

     hose to regulator, regulator into 

     cylinder) with a solution of equal parts 

     soap and water (make sure it’s foamy).

3) A stream of bubbles forming indicates a 

     gas leak.

4) If bubbles appear, turn the cylinder 

     valve OFF (clockwise) and disconnect 

     the regulator from the gas cylinder.

5) Tighten the connection and retry the 

     leak test.

6) If you are unsure or if you cannot 

     tighten the connection, place the 

     cylinder outside in a cool,  

     well-ventilated area and contact Alva 

     on 086 100 ALVA (2582)

7) A leak between the regulator and  

     which is very dangerous and can lead to  

     extensive injury or even death.
