The major difference between the former and the new situation is that Employee B is now attended by the
buzzer of keypad 2, thus preventing many false alarms!
When the employees leave the premises, they use the last door function. When Employee B leaves, he
presents his Tag (level 7, section B) to keypad 2, making the control panel arm section B. The exit delay of
MC3 and PIR3 starts and the buzzer of keypad 2 begins to beep. When Employee B is outside, he presents
his Tag to the Proximity Reader, which stops the exit delay of section B. Employees A and C do the same
when they leave. When all three departments are armed, the common Hall will automatically also be armed.
Notes RO module
In both examples mentioned above, the electric door strike is controlled by an RO module. In this case, the
option ‘LCD/PROX activates RO modules?’ must be programmed as NO. By this, the control of the RO
modules by the LCD/PROX keypads is disabled.
In both examples it is also possible to use the OC output of the Proximity Reader to control the door strike.
In this case the OC output must activate a relay, which in turn activates the door strike.
The electric door strike must always obtain its power from a separate power supply, through a relay. This
relay can be the RO module relay, or another relay, which is then controlled by the OC output. Opening the
door is done from the separate power supply, through the relay. Never use the RS-485 power supply for
controlling the door strike! Especially for thus purpose, the expanded RO module with it’s own power
supply has been developed. It’s advisable to use that expanded RO module in similiar situations.
UP/DOWNLOADING VIA ISDN
From software version 2.0 the AlphaVision NG control panel can be used for up/downloading via ISDN.
Instead of the integrated PSTN dialler the NG ISDN AlphaCom plug-on dialler is used. This is a special
AlphaCom version, especially suited for the AlphaVision NG control panel.
Up/downloading via ISDN can be compared with up/downloading via PSTN, with some major advantages.
The biggest advantages are the increased up/downloading speed and the fact that the AlphaVision NG
control panel remains operational until the up/downlaod session is ended. After the up/download session, the
control panel will, if necessary, restart.
When function 8 is used to start the up/downloading session, make sure there is no 9th telephone number
programmed in screen 9. When the control panel executes function 8, it checks if the 9th telephone number
is programmed. If there is a telephone number programmed here, the control panel will use this number for
up/downlaoding. If not, and when there is an AlphaCom plug-on dialler present, the AlphaVision NG
control panel will command the AlphaCom to start the up/download session. In this the call-back number
must be programmed in the AlphaCom manual. Please see the AlphaCom manual for further instructions.
