Stopping, cleaning and maintenance
Unplug the appliance before carrying out any maintenance operation.
Warning
This appliance contains hydrocarbons in its cooling unit; maintenance and recharging
must therefore only be carried out by authorized technicians.
Never use metal objects for cleaning your appliance as it may get damaged.
Whenever the appliance is not to be used for an extended period of time:
– set the thermostat knob to
O
= off, or pull out the plug;
– remove deep-frozen food from the freezer compartment;
– empty the refrigerator compartment;
– when the appliance is completely defrosted, clean and dry the freezer compartment
and the inside of the refrigerator as previously described;
– leave the door slightly open to avoid odour formation.
Defective operation, hints and advices
Incorrect use can often cause problems and require unnecessary visits by the service cen-
tre. The following advice is designed to avoid these problems.
The appliance does not cool sufficiently.
a) The knob has been set to an excessively low position.
b) The refrigerator has not cooled sufficiently before loading the food to be stored.
c) Too many food items have been loaded at one time.
d) The food loaded is in portions which are too large.
e) Boiling or very hot food has been loaded.
f) Food has not been arranged correctly. Cold air cannot circulate properly or its circula-
tion is insufficient.
g) Operating mistakes which can be discovered by re-reading the instructions.
h) The door has not been closed tightly .
The appliance cools excessively.
