Cleaning and maintenance of the refrigerator compartment
Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations, unplug the appliance or turn
the thermostat knob to position «
O
».
We recommend using a normal domestic detergent for cleaning; remove all food, prefera-
bly when the refrigerator compartment is not very full, clean the compartment and reset
the thermostat knot to the required position.
Replacing the interior light bulb
(Fig. 13)
The light inside the refrigerator compart-
ment is easy to get at through the open-
ing in the light holder.
If the light does not go on when the door
is open, check that it is screwed into
place properly.
If it still does not light up, change the
bulb.
The rating is shown on the light bulb
cover.
Description of the freezer compartment
Temperature adjustment / Freezing
The refrigerator is fitted with a
freezer compartment (4-star). In this compartment
temperatures of –18
°
C a lower can be obtained.
This compartment allows storage of deep-frozen food and freezing of a limited quantity of
food.
1) The temperature is adjusted by means of the thermostat knob located inside the refrig-
erator.
By turning the knob clockwise the temperature is reduced. A mid position is usually the
best for normal use.
2) To freeze food, set the knob to 5-6.
3) After 3-4 hours load the food to be frozen.
4) After 24 hours reset the thermostat to “normal” temperature (position 3-4). If the sur-
rounding temperature is normal, set the knob to a mid position. Setting temperatures
lower than –18
°
C is a waste of energy.
5) The freezer compartment temperature can be checked by means of a special thermo-
meter.
