2. Checklist
Before you start installing the POE Switch, please verify that the package
contains the following items.
- The 8 Port Fast Ethernet Switch with 4 POE Ports
- AC Power Cord
- CD containing this manual
Please notify your sales representative if any of the above items are missing
or damaged.

3. Installing the Switch
With ease of installation in mind, the Alloy POEFE404 Fast Ethernet POE
switch will fit seamlessly in to any new or existing network infrastructure. With
Auto MDI/MDI-X auto cross over support on all 8 ports the need for both
straight through and cross over cables are a thing of the past.

Use Cat. 5 grade RJ-45 cable or better to connect the POEFE404
switch to a network aware device, such as a workstation or server.
Ö
Repeat the above step as needed to connect up to 8 networking
devices to the POEFE404.
Ö
For Fast Ethernet connections Cat.5 or Cat. 5e cable must be used
with a maximum distance of 100m.
Ö
Insert the power cord in to the POEFE404 to supply power to the unit.
Ö
If you are connecting a PD device that will draw power from the
POEFE404 device please ensure that you plug the cable into one of
the four PSE ports. (Ports 1 to 4)
