Overview
The AT-PWR11 is an DC redundant power supply for the AT-8400 Series switch.
When installed, the unit operates in a standby mode. If the standard power supply
fails or loses power, the AT-PWR11 unit changes from standby to active and
provides all power to the system to prevent a network failure.
Note
The power supply is hot-swappable. You can install it without powering off
the chassis.

Installing the AT-PWR11 Power Supply
Before installing a power supply, please note the following:
❑
Refer to the
AT-8400 Series Switch Reference Guide
for
electrical safety and
emission information.
❑
The AT-PWR11 unit must be installed in a DC powered AT-8400 Chassis.
This type of chassis has two DC terminal blocks on the back panel.
❑
There may be several different models of DC power supplies. Each model
is rated for a different power load. Both power supplies in an AT-8400
chassis must be of the same model type. Do not mix power supplies with
different power ratings in the same chassis.
To install the AT-PWR11, follow these steps:
1.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two captive screws that secure the
power supply cover to the chassis and remove the cover from the chassis. The
cover is removed by angling it from the bottom as you slide it down and out of
the chassis.
2.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the captive screw that secures the cover
over the power supply PWR B slot and slide the cover from the chassis.
Note
Store the cover in a safe place. You should reinstall it if you ever remove a
power supply from the chassis without installing a new one.
3.
Place the locking levers on the new AT-PWR11 unit in the released position.
