Activating the VCStack Feature
When a switch displays the number “0” in its ID LED you must activate the
VCStack feature to install a VCstack. The following procedures assume
you have confirmed that the VCStack feature is disabled and that the
switch is powered on.
To activate the VCStack feature, perform the following procedure:
1. Start a local management session. Refer to “Starting a Local
Management Session” on page 91 for instructions.
2. Enter the ENABLE command to move from the User Exec mode to the
Privileged Exec mode, as shown in Figure 50.

3. Enter the CONFIGURE TERMINAL command to move to the Global
Configuration mode, as shown in Figure 51.

4. Enter the STACK ENABLE command to activate VCStack on the
switch, as shown in Figure 52:

5. Enter the EXIT command to return to the Privileged Exec mode, as
shown in Figure 53.
