To alter the height of the groomer:
-
When not needed the groomer can be lifted out of work. Firstly ensure
that the groomer is lowered out of the transport or out of work position.
-
To do this, loosen the transport position knobs on each side of the mower
chassis (3 in Figure 1)
-
Ensure that the groomer is in its lowest position, tighten the knobs and
check the height.
-
To make height adjustments use the hand wheels (4 in Figure 1). Rotate
clockwise to increase grooming height and anti-clockwise to reduce it.
10.3 Cylinder and bottom blade grinding/reconditioning
The cutting performance of the ELMOW mower is highly dependent on the condition
of both the cylinder and bottom blade. Poorly maintained parts will lead to poor
quality of cut and have a detrimental effect to battery performance.
It is advised that the grinding/reconditioning of the cylinder and bottom blade be
carried out by either Turfmech Machinery Limited or a registered Allett dealer.
The bottom blade of the Tournament mower should be ground with a 5
O
angle as
shown below.

10.4 Forward speed and Clip rate
The clip rate is the number of times a cylinder blade passes the bottom blade over a
1 metre distance. The ELMOW clip rate is set at 246 cuts per metre. Three speed
options can be selected to suit different operators preferred mowing speeds. The clip
rate will automatically increase as forward speed is increased on the rotary speed
switch.
10.5 Chain and belt tension
The tensioning device for the land roll chain and cylinder timing belt can be found by
removing the left hand chain case cover. To tension the chain, slacken the plastic
chain adjuster bolt and reposition in the slot provided in the chassis. To tension the
timing belt drive, slacken the idler bearing bolt and reposition in the slot provided in
the chassis. The tensioning device for the groomer can be found under the left hand
chain case cover. To tension the 1/2” chain, slacken the compound sprocket and
reposition in the slot provided in the chassis. The 3/8” chain has a sprung automatic
tension mechanism.
