Chapter 3
Install the 1788-EN2DNR Linking Device
The IP address can be set with the web page only if the linking device already has
a valid IP address. One way that you can do this is by using the rotary switch to
force the linking device to use the IP address from the switches after you cycle
power. Follow these steps to configure the IP address with the web page.
1.
Browse to the linking device by entering the IP address set by the switches
in your web browser’s address bar and press Enter.
2.
In the left pane, click Network Configuration.
The Enter Network Password dialog box appears.
3.
In the User Name box, type Administrator.
4.
In the password box, type the password, which by default is the serial
number of the linking device in hexadecimal format, upper case.
The serial number can be found on the web page of the linking device.
Note
: it is highly recommended to change the password to something
other than the serial number. Access the password configuration section by
clicking Password Configuration in the left pane.
IMPORTANT
Because the rotary switches setting overrides other IP address configurations,
be sure to set the rotary switches to the 0 position before continuing.
