RIAA Option Fitting Instructions
Step 2:
Remove the cover
Remove the seven M3x6 Torx screws and lift off the cover
Step 3:
Remove jumpers and screw
Remove and retain 1x PCB mounting screw as shown, replace with M3x12 pillar (AB3704). Remove 2x
jumpers from connector CN18.
Step 4:
Fit the RIAA option card
The RIAA Option circuit card assembly connects to the main circuit board via CN18 as shown, secure the
card to the pillar using the screw removed in step 3.
If desired, the jumpers removed in step 3 may be stored on any two pins of CN17 as shown below, so
that they are readily accessible if conversion back to non-RIAA inputs is required. Fit the jumpers at 90° to
their normal in-use positions, with only one side of each jumper on a pin.
Step 5:
Refit the cover
Check your work carefully and ensure that there is no dirt or debris inside the unit. Replace the cover and
secure with the 7x screws.
Step 6:
Test
With the cover refitted, connect to the mains supply. Power on and check for correct operation. Note that
the turntable ground wire should be connected to the chassis ground screw on the
VF-1
to prevent hum.
