Interface Connections
Unscrew the wire gland cap on side of unit, feed wires through cap into unit. Screw cap back onto gland to provide
strain relief. Additional wire ties provided to dress field connections. Once site connections are made use provided
screws to mount lid.

Connection Descriptions:
1)
SIP Network –
Connect CAT5 patch cable to this port. SIP Network must support PoE to provide power.
2)
Alert Beacon Serial Connection –
connect supplied Alert Beacon serial cable into this port, terminate other
end to Alert Beacon DB9. DO NOT PLUG CAT5 NETWORK CABLE INTO THIS PORT IT CAN DAMAGE
THE SOCKET PINS.
3)
Power Indicator –
Glows when external power connected.
4)
System Ready Indicator –
Glows when TTS module booted and ready for operation.
5)
TTS Module Power -
Connect 12-24V AC/DC to the 2 pin plug provided. The input is rectified so polarity
observation is not required. Power supply should be rated to 500mA.
6)
microSD Card –
Used to store system configuration settings. Typically this is configured before shipping, be
sure to consult Alertus Support before attempting any file modifications.
Troubleshooting
Unit is labeled to indicate settings used at the factory. Please have this information on hand if it becomes necessary to
contact Alertus Support.

Post-Install Tasks
In order to properly configure the localized notification capabilities of the Alertus Notification
system, administrators must have a record of the Unit ID and location of each Alert Beacon.
Alertus provides
After completing an installation, record the 4-digit Unit ID (found on the white label on the rear of
the unit, highlighted on the right), and a short description of the unit’s location, such as
“Mathematics Building, East hallway near lobby” along with connected peripherals such as a SIP
Annunciator.
