SYMPTOM

Dead.

No Picture. (Splash Screen)

Not Playing discs.

Screen not filled.

Will not SKIP or SEARCH

No Sound.

No Remote Control Functions

High incident light shining on 
window of player

Ensure no direct sunlight is on 
the R/C window.

Batteries low
Object in path of signal

Replace batteries.
Ensure the Remote control can 
be seen by the player.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

REMEDY

No power to the player.

Player not turned on.

No connection to Tv

TV  input not selected

Disc rating incorrect.

Moisture on the DVD Lens

Disc damaged

Player not set to disc correctly

Disc has no chapters.

Opening titles and Warning

Connections to Tv not correct

Incorrect region
Disc incorrectly placed

Connections to External 
Amplifier not correct

External Amplifier not turned on.

Check the connections to the 
mains supply

Press POWER Button in.

Press OPEN/CLOSE to confirm 
power is getting to player.

Check connections to Tv ensuring SCART 
plug “if used” is plugged in fully at both 
ends.
If the Tv does not automatically select the 
DVD player, see your Tv user manual to 
select the SCART input.

This player is set to Region 2
Ensure the disc is placed label side up.

Set the player to the correct 
rating for the disc.

Condensation on the DVD lens can be 
removed by allowing the player to warm 
up 1-2 hrs.

Check disc for damage

Enter SETUP menu. Select 
another screen format.

Some discs have no “Chapters”.

Most discs will not SKIP when WARNING 
and Opening titles are shown.

Check SCART lead if used, or other 
audio lead connections.

Check connections to External amplifier.

Ensure External amplifier is turned on 
and the correct input is selected.
