Fault Symptom

No Operation. No 
backlight. 

Low battery voltage 

Replace battery 

Lights up but no 
operation. 

LOCK SWITCH ON 

Turn LOCK switch OFF. 

 
Poor battery performance 

 
Incorrect battery type. 

DO NOT USE NICAD 
rechargeable batteries. 
Use high capacity 
batteries. 

Not playing certain music 
files 

WMA files may not be 
authorised. 

Some DRM files are dated 
to play for a certain time 
only. 

File manager on PC says 
memory full, but has not 
reached full capacity 

Incorrect formatting of 
MP3 player 

Format as FAT32 for 
Win2K or Win XP.  Format 
as FAT16 for WIN98. If 
you reformat you will 
loose all data. 

Player not turned on. 
 

Switch player on before 
connecting USB lead. 

 
PC will not “see” Player 
when connected. 

Check Operating system 
of PC 

If using WIN98 use 
installation disc provided. 

No Output or Output on 
one channel only. 

Headphone wires
