RCA Cable:  

A type of connector used to  

 

transmit audio/visual signals.

RGB:  

 Video input in which red, green 

and blue colour information is 

transmitted separately from 

the picture information of an 

image. A common video output 

option.

R-MONO:  

In this mode, the DVD player  

 

will output the right channel  

 

audio only via both the FL and  

 

FR speaker.

SVCD:  

 Super Video Compact Disc – a 

digital format for storing video 

on standard compact discs. 

SCART OUTPUT:  A 21 pin socket used to connect 

video equipment.

SCART LEAD:  

 Cable commonly used to 

connect televisions and 

DVD players, VCR or games 

consoles. 

STEREO 

(DUAL MONO):    In this mode, the DVD player 

will output the left and right 

channel audio via the FL and FR 

speaker respectively.

(DOWNMIX):  

 The 5.1 channel audio is mixed 

into stereo signal and is output 

via the FL and FR speaker.

USB:  

 Universal Serial Bus. A popular 

connection for sharing and

 A port to connect a USB flash 

drive to.

VCD:  

 Video Compact Disc, designed 

to hold MPEG-1 video data 

and to include interactive 

capabilities.
