Redundant Operation
The following tables describes the possible failure modes and how they are handled with and without a redundant hardware pair.
Failure Handling with Redundant Pair

Power Supply Failure Switch to secondary unit Failed unit’s status light = flashing red and unit is offline *
Fan Failure Switch to secondary unit Failed unit’s status light = blipping red and unit is inactive
DSP Failure (crash or hardware prob-
lem) Switch to secondary unit Failed unit’s status light = flashing red and unit is offline *
FPGA Failure Switch to secondary unit Failed unit’s status light = flashing red and unit is offline *
Watchdog timeout (software hang) Switch to secondary unit Failed unit’s status light = flashing red and unit is offline *
Running factory code (boot mode switch
activated, upgrading firmware or failed
