AIRSTREAM LAND YACHT GAS
ROOF LADDER
Lifting up on the bottom section of the ladder will release the hinge and allow the ladder to be
pivoted down to use position. The ladder a two pins that inserted snuggly into the nylon sockets.
To store, pop the ladder bottom out of the nylon sockets and fold the ladder upward at its hinge,
as it nears vertical, the slot in the hinge will fall into a locked position and hold the ladder up. If
the ladder is down and rear compartment access is required, the bottom of the ladder is pulled out
of the sockets (a good hard tug is needed) then swung up vertically. For traveling, the ladder
bottom should be in the up position and locked securely. The hinge is self-locking in the up
position, however a slight tug is always a good check.
Warning:
The intent of the ladder is for service access to roof mounted
components by trained service technicians. Vertical ladders require physical dexterity and
safe conditions to climb. The ladder and roof can be a dangerous place, especially when wet,
or in snow and ice. Falls from the roof or ladder with serious or fatal injuries are possible.
Only you can judge your physical abilities and the environment for safety as you
contemplate using the ladder. If in doubt, be safe, and please stay off the ladder and the
roof!
CAUTION
:
The maximum roof capacity is 250 lbs. spread over a minimum of 4'x 4' area. This
criteria is easily met by the service technician placing appropriately sized paneling or plywood on
the roof.
POWER AWNING (OPTION)
Just inside the main door is a switch used to extend and retract the optional power awning. An
exterior switch is located in the lower exterior compartment behind the main door. Please read
and follow all operational guidelines as set forth in the awnings owner manual that is inserted in
the Silver Key Book before operating the power awning.
