TROUBLESHOOT/ FAQ
Why does the device sometimes turn itself off during normal
operation of AirShroud?
The product is installed with a safety mechanism that shuts the
product down if it detects there is a risk of short-circuiting or
the battery from overheating. This usually happens if the
uncovering phase was done improperly. Below are the ways that
could trigger this.
No 1.
Did you make sure that the device is not tilted to one side
and suspended horizontally and firmly outside the lower rim
of the trunk with its sponge legs resting on the side of the car?
The reason why this can be an issue is because it would affect
how the cover is retracted. If the device is tilted, then the retrac-
tion of the cover would deviate to one side, causing one side of
the roll to be much thicker than the other. This would create a
burden to the electric motor to draw even more power from the
battery, so it could trigger the safety mechanism to turn itself off.
Solution: If you press the power button on and it still works, then
it means that there’s no fault with the device and that it’s just
the safety mechanism being triggered. If it cannot be turned on,
please contact us.
