10. If the Wall is less than 8" thick remove one or more of the
electrical compartment clearance knockouts. (fig 5)
11. Install the Exterior wall Cap housing through the hole and onto
the casing strips and secure in place using screws or nails. Seal
the flange where the wall cap meets the wall with Caulk. (fig 6)
INSTALLING THE INTERIOR HOUSING AND
ELECTRICAL WIRING
Note
: All electrical wiring must comply with local and national
electrical codes.
This fan can be controlled with a standard wall switch carrying the
appropriate electrical ratings.
1. Run wiring to the fan housing from a wall switch – White, Black,
& Green or Bare copper ground.
2. From inside the house insert the interior fan housing into the
exterior fan housing. The interior fan housing should be tight
against the interior wall, align the 3 holes at the end of the interior
housing with 3 holes in the exterior housing and secure in place
with the 3 screws provided.
3. Pull the wires through the electrical compartment clearance hole
in the interior housing.
4. Retrieve the electrical compartment and electrical compartment
cover (with fan receptacle).
5. Remove one of the electrical knockouts in the electrical
compartment and secure the wires to the electrical compartment
using an approved electrical connector.
6. Connect the house ground to the fan via the green ground screw.
7. Push the electrical compartment & wires back through the
clearance hole in the interior housing, The flanges on the electrical
compartment will stop the electrical compartment from going
completely through
8. Wire the receptacle in the wire compartment cover to the house
wiring (white to white, black to black) use approved electrical
connectors and electrical tape. (fig 7)
9. Align the electrical compartment cover with the electrical
compartment & mounting holes, secure in place with 2 screws provided.
COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION
1. Reinstall the fan’s Motor, Motor bracket, & blade and tighten
down the screws to secure in place – Rotate the fan blade by hand
to ensure it is spinning freely, make any necessary adjustments.
2. Plug the motor into the receptacle
3. Install the fans grill by positioning the grill over the hole and
aligning the center hole with the grill mounting hole on the motor
bracket. (fig 1)
4. Secure the grill by installing the grill knob, turn to tighten.
5. Turn on the power and test your installation.
AIR KING FIVE YEAR WARRANTY
All products manufactured by Air King Limited are warranted for
one year from the date of purchase against defects in workmanship
and/or material. In addition, all ventilating/exhaust fans, heaters,
combination fan lights and/or heaters, and range hoods are
guaranteed for five years from the date of purchase against defects
in workmanship and/or material. This warranty does not cover any
labor or shipping costs or the cost of replacement components as
part of routine maintenance such as: range hood grease filters,
charcoal filters or combination charcoal/grease filters; replacement
light bulbs in range hoods or bathroom fan/light/bulb heater
combinations. As well, any damage or failure caused by abuse,
misuse, abnormal usage, faulty installation, or improper
maintenance will not be covered by this warranty. In order to make
a claim on this warranty, you must be the original consumer of the
product, and you must contact Air King Ltd. at 1-800-465-7300
between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm EST Monday to Friday at the first
sign of a defect. You will be required to present to Air King Ltd. the
original bill of sale showing: date of purchase, place of purchase
and model purchased. Failure to meet these requirements will void
your warranty. Air King Ltd. will not be held responsible for any
bodily injuries or damages to personal property or real estate
whether caused directly or indirectly by the product. Some states
and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental
or consequential damages and some states do not allow limitations
on how long an implied warranty lasts, so these exclusions or
limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific
legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to
state and province to province.
